If you re installing roofing shingles in cold weather below these temperatures your shingles may become brittle and more prone to breakage.

If winter installation is unavoidable most asphalt shingle manufacturers require a specialized adhesive manually applied to each shingle for temperatures below 40 f 4 celsius.
If shingles are applied below 40 without the specialized adhesive you risk a voided warranty.
In the case of rubber roofs the entire system is usually installed with several different adhesives one to glue rubber to the insulation one for the seams special seam primers and cleaners etc and every rubber roof manufacturer explicitly points out that their roof should not be installed in temps below 40 degrees.
Keep the glue warm 60 deg s before using it.
However rubber roofs can in fact be installed during cold weather if and only if you re working with a contractor who is experienced in cold weather roofing.
Also it is advised to install rubber roofs in ambient temperatures of 40f degrees of above.
Third before applying patch seam tape cover tape you must apply epdm primer and let it dry to pass the tack and pull test.
Epdm rubber membrane roofing materials are even more temperature sensitive than asphalt composition shingles.
With that said prior to making any commitments to installing a rubber roof make sure to ask the contractor how they would approach installing a rubber roof in cold weather.
